BOE'Z Field Souvenirs

During the early 60's the small town of Beit Sahour was mainly inhabited by farmers and shepherds. Earning a living for these farmers and shepherds was a difficult daily task for all.

One of these families were the family of Micheal Bannoura. The first family to live in the shepherds field area, they encountered and experienced tourism first hand.

The father of Micheal Bannoura pursued  a small private business selling food and drinks to tourist. His Journey began in a small shop underneath his home, where he welcomed and served the tourist who came to visit the Shepherds Field.

Over the years, Mr. Bannoura's family expanded and so did his shop.

In the early 90's, Mr. Bannoura decided to turn his fathers business into a society which supports approximately 48 different local christian families. 70% of the local Christian community depend on the tourism industry by producing olive wood and mother of pearl products, making tourism their main and only source of income.
